We explore creation and management aspects of workflow business automation, compliance requirements and the risks of mis-managing data. INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNOLOGIES Peer Group Track

Legal technologists are constantly being asked to provide an abundance of services that affect the performance of their environments. These services create many challenges within the industry and among our end-users. Technologies such as VoIP, video (HD video), Storage Area Networks (SAN), virtualization, network intrusion prevention and detection, remote access and e-mail now have a significant impact on our networks and have rewritten traditional infrastructure requirements to expand well beyond "the network." Cross-team efforts are required to explore new capabilities, expanded services, and performance improvements. Even in strong economic times, user support and training often have less tangible resources (budget, manpower, etc.) than other areas of IT. In our lean economy, maximizing IT's support value to the organization becomes critical. Our "Training on the Cheap" session will provide hands-on, practical ideas and resources for maintaining a robust training program when budgets are evaporating. "Engaging Your Audience: Creating Persuasive Training and Presentations" will transform university research on the psychology of persuasion into specific steps to improve the effectiveness of your presentations. We then turn to application challenges for our final two sessions: (1) a panel of participants from various firm sizes who have completed their transition to Office 2007 share their successes, challenges and insights from the upgrade trenches; and (2) one of our famous application shoot-outs, this time focused on template/macro packages.
